I am not Frisian, can I take part?
Anyone who 'has a connection' to Fryslân is welcome as a Frisian. Of course, we're delighted if you have a link to Fryslân. For example, your event might take place in Fryslân, or maybe you live here or your event is related to Fryslân. Frisian 'om utens'? Great! We'd love to hear from you.

Do I have to speak Frisian?
No, there is no specific requirement to speak Frisian. You can hold your event in Dutch, Frisian, English or German, or another language you may speak. Indicate which languages you speak when you create your profile. You don't need to speak each one perfectly, but guests you meet should be able to understand you. 

How likely is it that tourists will participate in my event?
In 2018 Leeuwarden-Fryslân is the Netherlands City of Culture. So, we are expecting a great deal of interest from tourists. If you would like to receive guests from abroad, offer your event in English or German. 

Will I make any money from events?
No, events that you offer are on a voluntary basis and, as such, they are free. If you incur expenses, such as buying a cup of coffee if you meet in a café or a ticket to a museum, then discuss and agree this with one another beforehand.

Will other events be added?
Yes, Leen een Fries  started Summer 2017. In October we presented the website to a wider audience. Leen een Fries has no set end date, we expect the range of activities on offer to keep increasing. 

Can I take someone else to an event?
Yes. Feel free to take a friend, colleague or family member along with you. Always agree this with the person offering the activity beforehand.

I have a complaint, who should I contact about this?
We hope your experience of using Leen een Fries is a good one. If it is not, we would like to know about it so we can take appropriate action. Send your complaint, tip or comment to info@leeneenfries.nl. Many thanks! 

Can I take part just once or do I need to offer my activity on a regular basis?
You are free to offer your activity just once. Of course, we would be delighted if you want to share your story again or stay part of LeeneenFries.nl for a longer period.

Where is the best place to arrange to meet?
You should decide on this yourself. If you are going to talk about the historic centre of Dokkum, it's a good idea to arrange to meet there. But, you are free to arrange to meet somewhere else: in a café, at your home or in the Library, for example. 

I was not able to create a profile and/or an event, what should I do?
We are sorry you were not successful. Help is on hand in the Library where we can assist you in creating a profile and setting up an event. Or you can send an e-mail to info@leeneenfries.nl. Be as specific as possible when describing the problem, this will help us to deal with it quickly.

I have forgotten my login details, what should I do now?
If you forget your password, click on the ‘forgotten password’ link under the login button to request a new password. We will then send you an e-mail with a link to reset your password. 

I am looking for help translating my event, where do I go?
We have a database of people who can help with translation. It is easy to find a suitable translator by posting a message on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/leeneenfries.
